Many older residents & long term visitors to Inverloch firmly believe that Pine Lodge & the efforts of Cal Wyeth ‘put the town on the map’.
Efforts were being made to save some of the buildings, but it was all to no avail. The loss of pine lodge is still considered a serious breach of confidence in the preservation of important buildings in Victoria, but especially in South Gippsland.
The shock of its untimely demolition in the very early hours of one Sunday morning, carried out by the new owners, was considered to be an outrage.
