This auction of 45 blocks, is related to the original November 1895 auction of land conducted at the Radovick’s hotel in Korumburra. The 1895 auction obviously did not sell well, following the financial difficulties of 1893, where many Victorian’s lost their entire wealth & properties, seriously hindering the development of Victoria.
Notice that Inverloch is portrayed as “The Shipping Port of the Great Powlett Coal Fields!”
This auction is held at the time of the opening of the Wonthaggi mines in 1910, so consequently Inverloch did not become a great coal port! (happily for modern day Inverlochian’s!)
